Child Life and Attention Skills (CLAS) Program
CLAS is a two-site (UCSF & UC Berkeley) research study of treatment for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, predominantly Inattentive type (ADHD-I). The principal investigators are Drs. Linda Pfiffner and Keith McBurnett, from the Department of Psychiatry at UCSF, and Dr. Stephen Hinshaw, from the Psychology Department at UC Berkeley.
The 10-Year Follow-Up Project for Girls with ADHD
Since the research-based summer camps in 1997, 1998, and 1999, Professor Hinshaw has completed two follow-up studies of the summer camp participants. He is currently conducting a 10-Year follow-up assessments of these girls. The Multimodal Treatment Study of Children with ADHD
The MTA is a multi-site study funded by National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). This study, which began in 1991, is a clinical trial of psychosocial and medication treatment for children with ADHD. Professor Hinshaw is the Principal Investigator for the UC Berkeley site, which conducted treatment programs for the study in 1995 and 1996. With the NIMH renewal of this project, Professor Hinshaw and other MTA sites will be conducting follow-up assessments of the young adults who participated in MTA-related treatments a decade ago.
